There is more

Aside from the musical power on-stage, Prognosis will also bring the prog-feeling to Eindhoven off-stage. On Friday 22nd March, prog-fans and professionals can join a Prog Conference - the first of its kind in The Netherlands. Later that day there will be room to attend one or more clinics held by some of the leading artists in the genre. The café area of Effenaar Eindhoven will be transformed into an art gallery with works from Travis Smith; the graphic artist known for creating cover art for bands like Death, Devin Townsend, Katatonia, Nevermore, Opeth, Anathema, CKY, Soilwork, King Diamond, Novembre, Avenged Sevenfold, Strapping Young Lad, Persefone and Riverside. Not only can the art be admired here, but you can also purchase his amazing creations.

festival location

Effenaar

This year Eindhoven (Netherlands) will become the true centre of ‘prog - metal’. Under the name ‘Prognosis’ a new festival will rise.

The iconic venue ‘Effenaar’, in central Eindhoven, will be the core of the music festival with bands playing there on Friday and Saturday; but this is not all, there will be special performances in unique locations, Art exhibitions , book readings, special 'music industry' gatherings and artist music clinics in various venues in the centre of Eindhoven.

New and old prog will be seen and heard across town. On march 22 and 23 Eindhoven will be the place to be for every prog fan, musician and professional in Europe.

Prognosis is all about innovation and Eindhoven is the perfect location for it with its art - and industrial innovative touch. Besides a strong line-up there will be a lot to do and see in the centre of the city.

The music festival will be the heart of it, but there is much more to do and see for the real music lovers.

On different locations there will be book readings and clinics by international performing artists, art galleries with the best cover art in the scene, loads of unique merchandise and gatherings for those who want to know it all.

Prognosis brings more than just music!

  • Eindhoven

Eindhoven is also known as the City of Light, due to the Company Philips originating there and because of the several projects involving lighting up buildings of the city. During Carnival, Eindhoven is rechristened Lampegat (Hamlet of Lamps, although for the ironic purposes of carnival the translation Hole in the ground with lamps is closer to the mark); this refers again to the important role of Philips in the Eindhoven community.
