Leprous plays The Congregation in full

In a time where progressive music is rising and there are so many options available to new listeners, it takes serious guts and personality to turn heads anymore. Norway’s Leprous has done just that in recent years, and it has been such a joy to watch them emerge into the limelight of awareness within the progressive community. It is no wonder, however, as Leprous continues to mature and to cling ever closer to their hearts when crafting new music.

Leprous is a visionary band that defies genre labelling, not just in the style, but also in their attitude. After releasing “Tall Poppy Syndrome” (2009), “Bilateral” (2011) and “Coal” (2013); these artists released their monster album “The Congregation” (2015) that spurred high acclaim and an enormous world tour. Leprous, however, is not a band that takes success resting on their hind quarters, as they believe in pushing boundaries, learning from their mistakes, and following their instincts. They are prepared to release their new album “Malina” this summer, and it is set to offer a left hook to the progressive world.

Of all things, Leprous is not a band that can be caged into any single genre. They aren’t interested in any of that. What they do believe in, however, is pursuing their artistic passions and following wherever their hearts may lead. They have been celebrated for years for their evocative mix of polyrhythmic grooves, melancholy atmospheres, melodic vocals, and biting lyrics; but their new album represents a pure stream of consciousness in the changes they have made to their sound. It’s in this imaginative style of composition that the band finds “a lot of the beauty about composing and creating: There’s always movement.”

Repost @robinogn ・・・ It is with a very heavy heart I announce that I have to cancel the first show of my life as a musician tonight. Leprous is playing a sold out show in Istanbul tonight. Something I've been looking forward to for a long time. However, on my flight to Greece after our show at Techfest something happened to my ears. I could not alleviate the pressure of my ears at all, which made it feel like my eardrums was on the verge of bursting. Upon landing I immediately seeked help at a ear specialist which told me that I was lucky this didn't happen, and that I had a sinus infection and an inflammation of my ears. Nothing serious, but unfortunately something that makes me unfit for flying. I've been on medication since Tuesday in hope that it would help me recover fast enough for me to fly out to Istanbul today. Unfortunately I was not cleared by the doctor this morning, and as bursting my eardrums would mean even more canceled shows during the summer, I had to make the hard desicion to stay behind in Greece to give my ears time to heal up. Again, I am so sorry it turned out like this, but as I post this, TorO is in his room figuring out how to do this show on his own tonight, and I am more than certain it will sound plenty fat! It hope I'll get to play for you guys in the near future! Much love, Robin ❤️

We’re sorry for the lack of constant studio updates during the new album process, but we really prefer to focus 100% on the actual making of the album while we record 😅 Keys/piano and vocals the last week!
